Conference on the role of Quran in disseminating education for all
Regional-Syria, Religion, 10/1/2003

Parliamentarian and Director of the Center of Islamic Studies Mohammad Habash left Damascus today for New York to take part in today's UNINCEF-sponsored Conference on "The Role of the Holy Quran in disseminating Education for All."

Habash told SANA that the Conference, to be held under the UN umbrella, is a precedent and reflects the international organization's interest in the role of the Holy Quran in the dissemination of education and knowledge.

Syria has a unique experience in this field through al-Assad Institutions for the Holy Quran, available for the public across the country. Such Institutions actively give hand in the education and knowledge process, he added.

Habash is to deliver a lecture at the US Princeton University and another one at the Detroit-based Islamic Center.
