Scores of African illegal immigrants arrested near Moroccan-Algerian borders

A hundred and forty illegal immigrants from sub-Saharan Africa have been arrested during the late 48 hours in the outskirts of Oujda (East, near the Algerian border), announced, here Monday, the Royal county police.

The group includes 56 women, one of them with a baby.

These people, who managed to get into the Moroccan territory from Algeria, are from Sierra Leone, Senegal, Nigeria, Liberia, Guinea, Gambia and Mali. They often used as hideouts ruins, forests and rivers along the border with Algeria, the same sources said.

Thousands of sub-Saharan Africans attempt every year to reach Spain via Morocco, coming from Algeria. Moroccan authorities, find it more and more difficult to deal with the flow of these Africans.
