Celebration marking Intifada third anniversary

The Arab Committee and the Arab Syrian Popular Committee for backing the Intifada and Resisting the Zionist Project, held a celebration in Damascus today marking the occasion of the start of the Intifada.

The Chairman of the Popular Committee, Ahmad Abdul Karim, said in a speech that the Palestinians' steadfastness and national unity in the face of the Israeli occupying troops constitute the proper responce to the brutal practices of Israel.

He highly hailed the pan-Arab and firm stances of Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad and her support to Palestinians "until they restore their legitimate rights in establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital."

Meantime, the Palestinian IPC reported today that "Tarb Darya, 30, was wounded today morning in the left foot when the Israeli occupation soldiers opened random fire towards the civilian houses in Al Sybatt neighborhood and the old town of Jenin City, IPC Correspondent said Witnesses said that Darya has been wounded while standing at the steps of her relativeÕs house."
