Sudanese negotiations postponed until October

The chairman of the mediation commission in the inter- Sudanese peace talks Lazaraos Simbayo announced yesterday that negotiations between Sudan's (First) Vice-President, Ali Othman Muhammad Taha and the chairman of the southern rebels, John Garang, was postponed until next month ( October).

Simbayo in Nivasha, center of Kenya, where the negotiations are taking place, announced "we have postponed the meeting," noting that the most remarkable officials in the negotiations, including Taha and Garang approved to meet again but did not set a date for that.

Simbayo said that the committee includes representatives for the two sides "that will meet on October 6th to deal with the three pending issues which are: sharing the authority and resources and the status of the three areas under disputes which are the Blue Nile, al-Nouba mountains and Abbai.
