Spanish, Southern Morocco ports sign cooperation accord

The Port Authority of Las Palmas signed over the week end with three Moroccan Atlantic southern ports (Tan-Tan, Laayoune and Dakhla) a cooperation agreement to consolidate cooperation in training, trading expertise and technical, trade, sea transports and maritime transportation information.

The ports of Las Palmas, Laayoune, Tan Tan and Dakhla (southern Morocco) pledge under the agreement to promote training in operating and managing ports, fighting pollution, environment protection, ports' staff training and safety.

The agreement was signed on the fringes of a visit to southern Morocco of a delegation representing the trade chambers in Las Palmas and Acores. Chairman of the Las Palmas Port Authority, Jose Manuel Arnaiz Bra, said the agreement will boost trade between the two regions.
