al-Rai: Jordan to rehabilitate Falouja hospital
Jordan-Iraq, Politics, 9/23/2003
The Jordanian government has refused the request of several Jordanian parliamentarians to withdraw the Jordanian field hospital in Iraq and the Jordanian force in charge of protecting it for security reasons.
The Jordanian daily al-Rai said yesterday that the deputy premier and minister of administrative development in Jordan Muhammad al-Halayqa stressed during a session for the Jordanian cabinet on Sunday that his government will work for improving the hospital through providing it medical personnel and increasing the number of beds, so as to help the Iraqis in the current conditions.
The Jordanian hospital in Falouja was recently attacked and as a result one Jordanian assigned to guard the place was killed and other 3 wounded.
