Palestine-USA, Politics, 9/23/2003

In a statement, Palestine's mission at the UN said yesterday that The Political Department Chairman of Palestinian Liberation Organization Farouk al-Qaddoumi who will preside over the Palestinian delegation to the meeting of the UN General Assembly did not get in due time from the USA an entry visa which allows him taking part in the discussions.

The Palestinian mission said that "not delivering not the entry visa is considered an unfriendly behavior and constitutes a flagrant violation from the hosting country to its duties."

An American official confined to replying to a press question that "the request to get the visa is still under study."

However, some 80 heads of state and government and 120 foreign ministers are taking part in this general discussion of the UN General Assembly which starts today at the headquarters of the UN in New York.
