ICRC meets families of Moroccan POWs in tindouf
Morocco-Algeria, Politics, 9/22/2003
Delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for the Maghreb, Dorothea Krimitsas, met in Agadir Friday relatives of some Moroccan prisoners held by the Algeria-backed Polisario, in Tindouf (southern Algeria).
The encounter with POWs' families is part of a campaign launched this September 13 to allow the families of prisoners of war, held in Lahmada camps, know the whereabouts of their dear ones and establish contacts with them. The campaign started by ICRC meeting in Casablanca with 45 relatives of Moroccans detained in Tindouf. Similar encounters will be held in other Moroccan cities.
