Quarter of all Tunisians in schools, universities

Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali has expressed satisfaction over the deep reforms made by Tunisia in the sectors of education and scientific research.
In a message he addressed to the Tunisians on the occasion of the beginning of the new school year, Ben Ali said " we are pleased over the achievements of deep reforms in the sectors of education.. and scientific research, proud that these sectors cope with the changes and developments taking part in the world."
He stressed that Tunisia vows on "the brightness of our boys and girls and our commitment" in these areas for further "development of specialized establishments in these fields and modernizing its content and diversifying it and improving its revenues."
The number of Tunisian students at the country's universities and schools for this year reached more than 2.6 million of two sexes, representing one quarter of the Tunisian population.
