Oman, Politics, 9/19/2003
"The Interior Ministry Undersecretary said the devices will be operated on the elections day and it will be the first time to use the computer in some election procedures in the Sultanate and in the region in general. He said the Ministry had worked to facilitate the election process from the beginning," Oman's news agency ONA reported.
The report added "He said the automatic voting procedure will be used for the first time as well as vote tabulation which was previously done manually. The Undersecretary hoped that such measures would encourage citizens to take part in the elections."
