Miqdad and the American veto on expelling Arafat
Syria-Palestine, Politics, 9/18/2003

Syria's permanent representative at the United Nations, Faisal Miqdad underlined the American unjustified use of the veto against a "balanced draft resolution which reflects reality and demands putting an end to the Israeli aggressive practices which contradict the United Nations' Charter and international law."

In an interview with London radio today, he stressed that the draft resolution which Syria presented on behalf of the Arab group and adopted by many states like South of Africa, Pakistan and Sudan was a direct resolution which expresses the stance of the international community.

He asserted that the United States' stance is unacceptable because it reflects a complete bias to the Israel in all causes.

He pointed out that the United States doesn't want any resolution regarding the developments in the Middle East, while it adopted the Israeli stance instead of standing against the Israeli aggressive practices.
