Omran confers with Italian delegation

Syria's Information Minister Adnan Omran met in Damascus yesterday the Italian delegation representing parliamentarians, university teachers, writers and men of letters.

The Minister briefed the delegation on a detailed explanation about the current situation in the region, particularly "the incessant Israeli aggression against Palestinians."

He stressed Syria's commitment to UN Charter whether regarding the Arab - Israeli conflict or the regarding US occupation to Iraq.

He spoke about the modernization and development program Syria adopted in order to achieve social and economic progress.

For his part, the delegation's head appreciated Syria's positive stances vis-à-vis peace Process asserting the support of Italian popular bodies to remove the Israeli occupation to the Arab territories.
