Al-Assad meets with British house of commons selegation

President Bashar al-Assad received on Saturday a delegation representing the Foreign Affairs Committee in the British House of Commons headed by Donald Anderson.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the situation in Iraq, the peace process in the region and with Syria's role in the Middle East. Al-Assad stressed the necessity for a unified international vision to be the base for realizing peaceful solutions through dialogue and discussions.
Talks also touched upon the international community's desire for giving back and activating the UN role for the realization of international security and stability.
Talks also dealt with the bilateral relations between Syria and Britain, particularly between the British House of Commons and the Syrian Parliament and with means of pushing these relations forward through increasing visits exchange.
The process of development which Syria witnesses making use of the foreign expertise was also reviewed during the meeting.
