Al-Assad visits Malaysia in October

News reports said that the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad intends to take part in the Islamic states conference which will be held in Kuala Lumpur in October, in his first visit to east Asia since he had assumed power in Syria in 2000
To prepare for this visit, foreign minister Farouk al-Shara will fly earlier for Malaysia while Damascus has postponed the withdrawal of its ambassador from Malaysia until the end of the conference.
