Al-Shara confers with Russian deputy FM

Syria's Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara received in Damascus on Thursday Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Vidotov and an accompanying delegation on the latest developments in the region particularly Iraq and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Talks also dealt with the current discussions in the Security Council regarding Iraq where there was an assertion that any new resolution must enhance the UN role in Iraq in preparation for ending the occupation and restoring Iraq's unity and sovereignty.
