Khaddam meets French parliamentary delegation
Syria-France, Politics, 9/10/2003

Syria's Vice- President Abdulhalim Khaddam received in Damascus yesterday a French parliamentarian delegation headed by Chairman of the Syrian- French Parliamentarian Friendship Association Gerard Babette.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the obstacles facing peace process due to the Israeli aggressive practices against the Palestinians, its continuous threats to the Arab states, and the repercussions of all these practices on the security and stability in the region.

Talks also dealt with the Iraqi issue and the necessity for enabling the Iraqi people to chose their government under the supervision of the UN, and without any foreign interference.

The two sides discussed the Syrian- French relations and stressed the importance of boosting them in various fields.

Khaddam pointed out to the French just stances regarding the regional issues especially the Arab- Israeli conflict and the American occupation of Iraqi.
