Casablanca court postpones to sept.15 three terrorism cases

The court of appeal of Casablanca decided on Wednesday to adjourn to this September 15 three terrorism cases

The first case involves Bendaoud Khamli, suspected of belonging to the underground extremist group "Al Hijra Wa Takfir." Charges held against him include murder attempt and corpse dissimulation.

Another defendant, Abdelmajid L'garch, standing trial in Casablanca, is prosecuted for criminal association. He is the brother-in-law of Zouhair Tabiti, who was sentenced to ten years in jail in connection with the "Al-Qaida" dormant cell. He is suspected of buying the dinghy that Tabiti wanted to use to carry out terrorist acts.

The R'kiba group, also standing trial in Casablanca, is facing charges of criminal association, complicity in murder, complicity in kidnapping and sequestration and involvement in robbery. The group's leader is suspected of ties with Youssef Fikri who was sentenced recently to capital punishment for involvement in the spate of terrorist attacks of last May 16 in Casablanca.

The adjournment was decided to give time to the attorneys to prepare their arguments.
