More members of Lahd army returned back from Israel

The security forces in Lebanon announced that more than 50 Lebanese who fled to Israel with the Israeli forces during their withdrawal from south Lebanon in 2000, returned back to their country on Thursday.
They crossed the borders in al-Naqoura on board of vehicles for UNIFIL which handed them over to the first center for the Lebanese army in the sector. The police added that members of the group which is composed of Christians, Druze and Shiite were permitted in, after a short investigation, to return back to their villages in the border strip occupied by Israel for 22 years, with the exception of 8 youths who were detained for further investigation.
On the mid of August, the process of the return back of Lebanese who fled to Israel was resumed following a suspension of 7 months because of the beginning of the new school year.
A household who refused to be identified said "I want my children to learn the Arabic language rather than Hebrew. I prefer to return back to the village, regardless to results." However, statistics of the security forces said that some 4179 Lebanese fled to Israel in May 2000 had returned back since that date. Some 6500 of the people of south Lebanon accused of being members in the hireling forces led by Antoine Lahd fled to Israel of fear of judicial pursue.
More than 3000 of the people of the region which were under occupation suspected to "be collaborators" with Israel were brought before the military court. Most of them were sentenced from one to three years imprisonment and 32 of them were sentenced to death in absentia.
