Garang, Taha seek to give push forward the Sudanese peace talks
Sudan, Politics, 9/4/2003
The spokesman for the rebels of southern Sudan, Kawaji Samsoun, announced that the leader of the rebels John Garang will hold unique talks with the first deputy for the Sudanese President Ali Othman Taha in Kenya before the resumption of the Sudanese peace talks next week.
However, Samsoun denied what was stated by al-Sahafa daily yesterday that the talks were due to start yesterday ( Wednesday) because Garang has not arrived yet in Kenya.
The spokesman for the rebels, Yasser Araman, announced on Tuesday that Garang will travel to Kenya to hold talks with Taha and he will preside over the delegation of the rebels in a new round of talks to start on September 10th.
