Ghana wants to up ties with Morocco

President John Kufour of Ghana voiced his country's resolve to reinforce relations with Morocco to serve the two African nations' interests.

"We are working together to bring investments to Ghana," The Ghanaian head of state told the Moroccan second TV channel 2M on the sidelines of a visit to Al-Akhawayen university in Ifran (Atlas mountains).

Kufour, who arrived Friday in Morocco, was received Tuesday by king Mohammed VI in Tetouan, northern Morocco.

President of Al-Akhawayen University in Ifran, Rachid Belmokhtar, said President Kufour's visit to the university evidences the importance given to this establishment especially by English-speaking countries like Ghana.

He highlighted cooperation ties between Al Akhawayn and other Ghanaian universities.
