Jordanian king visits Iran next week

A source at the Jordanian royal court announced yesterday that the Jordanian King Abdullah II will pay a visit to Iran next week, his first visit during which he will hold talks with the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami on bilateral relations and conditions in the region.
News reports quoted the source as saying that the King "will visit next Tuesday, September 2nd Iran for talks with the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami." It added that the visit which lasts for two days and comes at the invitation of Iran will discuss "mechanism of supporting relations between the two countries and current developments in Iraq and the Palestinian territories."
