Al - Shara confers with Sheikh Sabah
Kuwait-Syria, Politics, 8/26/2003

Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah received in Kuwait yesterday Syria's Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara.

Al-Shara conveyed a message from President Bashar al-Assad to Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah and to the Kuwaiti Prime Minister concerning the latest developments in the region in addition to the bilateral relations between the two states.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the regional and international situations, particularly the situation in Iraq and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Both sides stressed the necessity for unifying the Arab efforts to support the Palestinians "in confrontation of the Israeli continued aggressive practices." They called Arabs to support the Iraqi people in order to restore their natural position on the political arena.

Talks also dealt with the necessity for enhancing relations and activating the bilateral agreements between Syria and Kuwait through the Syrian - Kuwaiti Higher Joint Committee.
