Iraqi transitional governing council delegation in Amman
Iraq-Jordan, Politics, 8/26/2003

The delegation representing the Iraqi governing council chaired by Ibrahim al-Jaafari arrived in Amman yesterday in the course of its current tour on several Arab states. Prior to the meeting, the Jordanian government confirmed receiving this delegation.

In conclusion of his talks in Cairo, al-Jafaari stressed that the Arab states receiving of members of the council is considered a frank recognition of it "more than being an implicit recognition, in the language of law." Al-Jaafari considered the meetings with the Egyptian official as a positive development in Cairo's dealing with the council.

The delegation of the transitional governing council in Iraq stressed it had discussed with the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa his desire to represent Iraq to the AL during the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers to be held on September 9 and 10th.
