Talibani in Australia: mass destruction weapons are hidden
Iraq-Australia, Politics, 8/23/2003

The leaders of the Kurdistani National Federation party Jalal al-Talibani has renewed from Australia yesterday his accusation to the former Iraqi regime of owning mass destruction weapons, saying "we have several friends of Iraqi scientists who took part in the making of these weapons."

Al-Talibani said following a meeting with the Australian foreign minister that the inability of the American forces to find these Iraqi weapons, does not means they do not exist, noting Iraq's large territory to justify that, considering that the inspectors need time to discover weapons shelters.

However, al- Talbani's statement on the Iraqi weapons comes at a time when an official investigation is being made on intelligence information concerning Iraq in which the Australian expert Andrew Welky said that the government lied and exaggerating the threats constituted by Iraqi weapons.

Welky who resigned in March in protest of Australia's support for the American- British war on Iraq said that the government of prime minister John Howard "has gone far into falsifying facts, and allegations on Iraq's cooperation with al-Qaida were all non sense."
