Syrian official source denies Israeli allegations over Baghdad's explosion
Syria-Israel, Politics, 8/23/2003

In response to allegations of the Israeli delegate at the United Nations concerning the truck that was used in the explosion in Baghdad, an official source at the Syrian Foreign Ministry stated that the Israeli statement is "incredible and is considered to be a strange paradox from a side that undermines the United Nations, its resolutions and its employees."

The source stressed that "Syria has respected the United Nations and its resolutions, in contradiction to Israel who killed the United Nations' Mediator, Kent Bernadotte in the year1948 in Jerusalem by blowing up the hotel where he was staying, destroyed the United Nations' headquarter in Qana south of Lebanon in the year 1996, and killed 13 international employees in the occupied lands."
