Syrian business delegation to visit Morocco

A delegation of Syrian businessmen, led by Syria's minister of industry, Issam al-Zaeem, will visit Morocco from August 31 to September 4.

The visit is organized at the initiative of the Industry Chamber of Damascus in coordination with the General Confederation of Moroccan Entrepreneurs (CGEM).

The delegation groups more than 40 entrepreneurs, including managers of public and private companies and it is due to examine with Moroccan officials means to reinforce cooperation in all economic sectors and intensify trade exchanges between the two states.

This is the first delegation of such an importance in quality of representation and number to visit the north African kingdom since the meeting of the first Moroccan-Syrian high joint commission in Damascus in October 2001.

The two parties had agreed to hold a meeting of the follow-up committee last June to assess the implementation of the recommendations and the 19 agreements signed during the first high commission meeting.
