Syrian- Malaysian parliamentary talks

Speaker of the People's Assembly Naji Otari received in Damascus yesterday the Malaysian Prime Minister Mahateer Mohammad and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them in all domains particularly in the parliamentary area.

Otari reviewed the parliamentary experience in Syria stressing the important role of the People's Assembly in pushing the development and modernization process forward in Syria.

Otari expressed appreciation over the bilateral relations, stressing that Syria expresses admiration over the Malaysian pioneering experience in development and construction process.

For his part, Mahateer appreciated the standing relations between Syria and Malaysia particularly the parliamentary ones stressing the necessity to develop these relations between the two sides.

He expressed his country's support to the Arab rights and to liberate the occupied territories in Golan Heights, Iraq and south Lebanon.
