Tlass meets Chinese delegation
Syria-China, Politics, 8/18/2003

Syria's Deputy Commander in-Chief, Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen. Mustafa Tlass has received in Damascus the Director of the Political Administration in the Chinese Public Liberation Army, Wan Tsengrin and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with relations of cooperation between the two armies and means of boosting them in the interest of the two countries.

Talks also dealt with the situation in the region particularly in Iraq and in the Palestinian territories.

The two sides stressed the necessity to exert all efforts to implement the international resolutions in order to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Later, Chief of General Staff, Gen. Hasan Tourkmani received Tsengrin and the accompanying delegation on bilateral relations between the two armies and means of enhancing them.

The Chinese delegation arrived in Damascus yesterday evening to pay a few day official visit to Syria.
