Two American soldiers and three Iraqi civilians were wounded

Two American soldiers and three Iraqi civilians were wounded in an attack by shells carried out by the Iraqi resistance in the center of the country yesterday morning.

The attack took place when two missile hit a small military vehicle near Balad town to the north of Baghdad.

Witnesses said that a military patrol was exposed to an ambush at the entrance of al-Qaem city near the Syrian borders. Eye witnessed were quoted that the ambush in which explosives and RPJ weapons were used inflicted great damages in three armored vehicles.

In another attack, two American soldiers were wounded following an attack that targeted their vehicle on the highway between al-Ramadi and al-Falouja city to the west of Baghdad. Witnesses said the American forces blocked the road at al-Khaledeyah town.

Three land mines went off when a procession including three armored vehicles passed by in an area, 16 Km to the west of al-Falouja city resulted in burning one of them.

One witness said that two American soldiers were wounded and three Iraqis were arrested.
