Funeral for Arafat's sister in Gaza
Palestine, Local, 8/15/2003

More than 2,000 Palestinians yesterday in Gaza held a eulogy for the sister of the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.

The body of Yusra Arafat was buried in al-Sheikh Rawdan cemetery to the north of the city of Gaza. The funeral ceremony was attended by senior officials at the Palestinian authority, the PLO and the Fatah movement, including member of the PLO executive committee Zakaria al-Agha, representing the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat who could not attend the funeral because of the siege imposed on him by Israel at his headquarters in Ramullah, in addition to several members of the PLO executive committee, the ministers and members of the Palestinian legislative council.

The body of the late Mrs. Arafat arrived yesterday from Egypt through Rafah crossing on the Egyptian borders. An Egyptian official source said that Yusra al-Qidwa died on Wednesday in Palestine hospital in Cairo at age 77 following a struggle with illness.
