Yediot Ahronot: An Israeli delegation for Dubai in September
United Arab Emirates-Israel, Politics, 8/14/2003
The Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot said yesterday that the Israeli finance minister Benjamin Netaniahu, will preside over the Israeli delegation which will head for Dubai to take part in the conference of the International Monetary Fund.
The annual conference of the IMF will be held in September in the United Arab Emirates and is expected to be attended by hundreds of senior economists in the world. Including finance ministers, and governors of central banks for more than 120 countries.
In addition to Netanyahu, the Israeli delegation will include the governor of the bank of Israel, David Kline, and senior Israeli finance ministry officials.
Sources at the Israeli finance ministry said that Israel will propose during the conference its development and investment program in order to attract foreign investors.
The paper added that due to the special sensitivity over the venue of convening the conference ( in an Arab state ), it was decided to rent a plane of one of the Arab airlines ( not named yet) to transport high ranking Israeli officials directly from Tel Aviv airport to Dubai international airport.
