Festival of Arab songs organized in rabat

Rabat is hosting this August 12-14 the 11th edition of the Festival of Arab Songs organized under the aegis of the Radio Union of Arab States (ASBU), the union said in a release.
The purpose of the festival is to contribute to the promotion of Arab artistic production and the blossoming of new talents of ASBU member-countries.
In addition to Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain will take part in the festival.
A US $4,500 award dubbed "Golden Microphone" will be extended to the best song along with the Jury award and other encouraging prizes.
The first edition of the festival was held in 1989 in Syria whereas the 2002 edition was organized in Jordan.
