Gang attacking Moroccan expatriates arrested in Madrid
Morocco-Spain, Local, 8/13/2003
Spain's civil guard services arrested Monday three members of a gang that attacked Moroccan expatriates in Madrid to steal their belongings, a source close to the Spanish interior ministry said.
The members of the gang, two Iranians and one Pakistani pretended to be police agents and compelled their victims to get out of their vehicles to steal valuable objects.
The gang which is established in Italy made these operations on a highway where it attacked Moroccan expatriates on their way back to Morocco.
On Monday, Spanish authorities were trying to locate a bus that was hijacked by unidentified people early on Sunday in a station service in Grenada (southern Spain).
According to various testimonies, three or four people who pretended to be police agents rode the bus that was carrying Moroccan nationals, and drove it to a service station in Malaga, where they abandoned its 13 passengers and one of the bus' two drivers before continuing their way toward an unknown destination.
