World tourism organization mentions Morocco among most important tourist destinations
Regional, Economics, 8/7/2003

The International Tourism Organization (ITO) mentioned Morocco among the "most important "tourist destinations and foresees a new impetus" to the sector in the Kingdom.

Concerning arrivals of international tourists, " (.) Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar and Lebanon scored considerable growth last January, ITO said.

The organization says conditions of tourism development at the world level are notably more and more favorable "thanks to the decrease of tension in world politics."

The Organization's Barometer of world tourism that will be published three times a year aims mainly at surveying the evolution of short-term tourism in order to "provide tourism with appropriate information at the right moment."
