Road accidents kill 24 people in Morocco last week

Some 24 people perished and 1,220 were wounded, including 86 seriously, in 908 road accidents in Morocco during the sole week running from July 28 to August 3, 2003.

The National Security said the number of accidents increased by 3.29 percent and the number of deaths rose by 4.34 percent during that week compared to the previous one.

On Tuesday, two persons died and twenty others suffered serious injuries in a road accident 10 Km from Tetuan (northern Morocco).

The lack of respect of the driving code, priority, excessive speed and liquor remain the main reasons of accidents.
