Syrian- Lebanese agricultural Business Council meets on cooperation

Syria's Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Nour Eddine Mona, discussed in Damascus yesterday with a delegation of the Agriculture Committee of the Syrian-Lebanese Businessmen Council means of enhancing relations of cooperation as well as adopted procedures to eliminate the obstacles hindering economic integration in the agricultural sector between the two states.

Mona underlined the necessity for strengthening cooperation through putting an obvious strategy to face the standing challenges represented by the European partnership agreements and the Free Trade Zones and to find solutions to the marketing difficulties between the two states.

He also stressed the important role of businessmen in participating in the marketing operation in order to push the agricultural development forward.

Mona underlined that Syria has adopted all procedures to make the investment projects a success particularly in modern irrigation equipment technologies, animal husbandry, and agriculture fields.

For his part, the Secretary General of the Syrian-Lebanese Businessmen Council Rafael Debana stressed the importance of the new overture between the two states in a way that contributes to eliminate the standing obstacles expressing desire to achieve a fruitful cooperation in the agricultural field.
