Kuwait wants fraternal relations with Iraq

Kuwait has expressed its desire to maintain "brotherly relations" with Iraq post Saddam Hussein.
This was expressed in a statement issued by the Kuwaiti government yesterday on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
The statement which was issued by the Kuwaiti news agency said that Kuwait is looking forward to establishing good relations with a free Iraq. Relations that are characterized by reciprocated confidence taking into account good neighborly relations, Arab, Islamic and international charters and principles and honors international resolutions."
Kuwait had also extended "most sincere congratulations to the brotherly people of Iraq for being liberated from Saddam Hussein's regime."
