Marc Oti, the new European Union envoy to the Middle East has stressed that Syria and Lebanon are to make the decision of joining the roadmap as two independent states
In a statement following a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, Foreign Minister Jean Obaid, and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Ali al-Khalil yesterday, he asserted that the European Union and the international partners will support Syria and Lebanon due to the friendship between the Union and the two states.
For his part, al-Khalil stressed Syria and Lebanon's commitment to Madrid reference, land for peace formula and the relevant UN resolutions.
