Egypt: Islamists try to revive 'al-Takfir Wal Hijra'

An Egyptian security official announced yesterday that the 11 Islamists who were arrested in Cairo two days before were trying to revive "al-Takfir Wal Hijra" organization and they are not members in the "Islamic group," as stated when they were detained.

The 11 persons were arrested in the house of the teacher at al-Azhar mosque Naser Abdul Al who is described as the leader of the group which included two government employees and 8 students.

The detained persons were accused of having publications calling for Takfir al-Hakim (denouncing the ruler as non- believer) in remarks to the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
