Jordan-Iraq, Politics, 8/1/2003
A high ranking Jordanian official said in a press statement in Amman yesterday that two of the daughters of the toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein Rana and Raghad who are accomapnied by nine children arrived yesterday in Jordan where they will enjoy Jordanian protection. The Jordanian official was not able to define who are the children accompanying Saddam's two daughters.
Both Raghad and Rana were married to Hussein Kamel Hassan and his brother Saddam Kamel Hassan who resorted to Jordan in August 1995 with them and their 7 children. They all returned back to Iraq in February 1996, when the two men, their third brother and their sister and her children and their father were killed after they were accused of betraying the regime.
