Al-Shara confers with Iraqi envoy

Syria's Foreign Minister Farouk Al-Shara received in Damascus on Thursday advisor of the UN Secretary General Special Representative in Iraq, Ghassan Salama.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the latest developments in Iraq, the importance of boosting the UN role for maintaining Iraq' sovereignty, territorial integrity, ending the occupation and establishing a national Iraqi government selected by the Iraqi people. In this regard Shara underlined Syria's support to all steps adopted for realizing these aims.
