Syrian - Turkish talks in Ankara

Syrian - Turkish official delegations held yesterday in Ankara at the Turkish Prime Ministry headquarters a joint and fruitful meeting.
The meeting cochaired by Syrian Premier Muhammad Mustafa Miro and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Miro said that this meeting is being held to enhance the current economic, commercial and cultural relations. It comes to promote these relations up to a new horizon answering the requirements of the joint interest.
He stressed that just and comprehensive peace has been and still is an Arab basic need, it is a substantial matter to Syria, but due to the Israeli stubbornness and the attitudes of its successive governments, the opportunities of peace have been missed.
"We are coming today to give the Turkish - Syrian relations a new essential turning -- a point that enriches what has been previously fulfilled on the bilateral cooperation in the commercial and economic domains," Miro added.
He underlined that Syria is enjoying a state of political, social and economic stability as well as witnesses a progressive steps towards modernizing her administrative, legislative, financial and educational areas under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.
Earlier, Erdogan stressed the importance of this visit in boosting the bilateral relations for the interests of the two countries. He stressed the necessity of realizing just and comprehensive peace in the region in addition to keeping the Iraqi sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Later, they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries in all domains and means of enhancing them.
The ministers of the two delegations signed a number of agreements related to health, oil, economy and customs sectors.
Later, Miro and Erdogan held a joint press conference where they stressed the importance of this visit and its positive and fruitful results. They confirmed that viewpoints were identical vis-a-vis all different regional issues.
Earlier, Miro received at his residency Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul. Talks during the meeting dealt with the bilateral relations in all domains.
