Syrian cabinet meets on ratifying oil contracts

During a meeting held in Damascus yesterday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa Miro, the cabinet approved the ratification of the draft law of the signed agreement between the Syrian Petroleum Company and the two oil companies "Ocean Energy, and Gulf Sands Petroleum Limited" aiming at researching and investing oil.
The cabinet also approved the draft law stipulating Syria's ratification on joining the international treaty concerning the vegetal genetic resources approved by Food and Agriculture Organization at the United Nations.
