Several Iraqi ambassadors refuse to return back to Baghdad

An official in the Iraqi foreign ministry said yesterday that several Iraqi and charge de affairs abroad preferred not to return back to Iraq after the call addressed by the ministry to them to return back to Baghdad.

News reports quoted the executive official of the Iraqi foreign ministry Ghassan Muhammad Hussein to the Iraqi independent daily Azzaman that Iraq's ambassadors in south Africa, Cairo, Amman, Beirut and Belgrade and other countries quit their posts and did not return back to Iraq.

Hussein explained that preparations are underway to choose several heads of Iraqi diplomatic missions in the neighboring states, as a first measure and then this will expand to include 68 missions.
