Morocco wins African youth athletics championship

Morocco's athletics team won its 3rd title in African Youth championship (north Zone) that ended Thursday in Rabat.
Moroccan athletes took the lion's share with a total of 50 medals (18 gold, 17 silver and 15 bronze) ahead of Algeria that harvested 33 medals and Tunisia with 29 medals.
Moroccan Siham Hilali, who became World champion in the 3,000m women contest in Sherbrooke (Canada), won Wednesday the gold medal in the 1,500m contest with a timing of 4.20.
Some 54 Moroccan athletes, 43 Algerians, 35 Tunisians and 12 Libyans took part in the competition.
Morocco ranked first in the two previous editions held in Tunis in 2000 and 2002.
