Al-Adwa': Sudanese Umma council to resume dialogue with the government

The opposition Sudanese Umma party led by al-Sadeq al-Mahdi has decided to resume thew dialogue with the Sudanese government and the ruling National Congress party. The party nominated Omar Nour al-Daem, al-Mahdi's chairman, as head of the dialogue team.
In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Adwa' ( lights) issued yesterday in Khartoum, Nour al-Daem announced he had met with Ibrahim Ahmad Omar, the secretary general of the National Congress party and agreed with him on mechanism and means of paving the way and rebuilding confidence between the two parties.
Nour al-Daem described the meeting as a preliminary step for the resumption of dialogue between the Umma party and the National Congress party and the government.
