Syria and signing the AA with the EU

Syria's Deputy Premier for Economic affairs, Muhammad al- Hussein, has asserted Syria's appreciation over Spain stances supporting Syria and her negotiations regarding the signing of the Syrian-European Association Agreements ( AA).

He stressed Syria's care on developing her relations with Spain and the European Union.

In a joint press conference in Damascus on Monday with Spanish Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Rodrigo Rato Figaredo, Al- Hussein underlined that there was an agreement on extension period of the financial agreement for two additional years and preparation for two new agreements in fields of protecting and encouraging the joint investments as well as a tourist agreement to be signed in the future.

For his part, Figaredo described Syria as an important state in the region stressing her important role for realizing just and comprehensive peace in the region, Iraq's issue and for combating the world terrorism.

He asserted the importance of reaching to the Syrian-European partnership and Spain readiness to offer support to Syria in this regard.
