Pakistan supports peaceful settlement of Sahara issue

Pakistani president, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, who paid this July 17-18 an official visit to Morocco, said Friday his country supports a peaceful solution to the Sahara conflict through flexible negotiations.
We welcome the role that the United Nations play to facilitate this process but a definitive solution will only be reached if all the concerned parties show flexibility and balance in their positions, Musharraf told the Moroccan TV channel 2M. Pakistan withdrew two years ago its recognition of the Sahrawi republic, self-proclaimed by the Polisario.
