First campaign against Iraq's transitional governing council
Imams of the Sunni mosques in Baghdad yesterday launched a campaign against the transitional Iraqi Governing Council calling on Iraqis not to recognize it and to reject its decisions, while a commission for their scholars criticized the "sectarian and ethnic" composition of the council which "gives a certain sect a majority at the expense of the Iraqi people group and without a referendum."

AIDS awareness sessions to target parliamentarians and journalists
About 70 percent of Moroccans affected by the disease are aged between 20 and 39. Women are often contaminated at an age ranging between 20 and 29 with 30 percent compared to 20 percent for men. The two organizations also say the figures on people affected by HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases do not reflect reality since many cases are not reported by medics in the private sector and because of auto-medication.

Customers deposits at various banks increased by 6% in 2002 to reach 269.8 billion DH (US$ 28.4 billion), accounting for 73.4% of the banks' overall resources, says Morocco's central bank "Bank Al Maghrib."
