Minister stresses acceleration of industrial modernization in Syria

Syria's minister of industry, Issam al-Zaeem, stressed the ministry's interest in the usage of the industrial information technology in all institutions through a comprehensive modernization process.

During his meeting with a delegation of the international French Schneider company, he stressed that Syria is seeking to establish joint companies to produce high-tech equipment.

For his part Deputy Chairman of the company expressed his company's readiness to offer technological knowledge and technical skills in the field of electric and cement industries.

During another meeting, al-Zaeem and a Dutch delegation specializing in programming and computer networking industry discussed the possibility of establishing projects for computer networks in Syria which helps in transporting the Syrian expertise to the world and European markets.

The two sides agreed on signing a memo of understanding concerning projects of modern irrigation in Syria and other agricultural projects.
